Hello, my name is Jay(Jun Ho) Choi, and I am originally a Korean who now lives in Seattle, Washington. I have lived in 3 different countries, Korea, Canada, and the United States. I moved from Seoul, Korea to Toronto, Canada when I was in 7th grade. Then, when I was in 9th grade, I moved from Toronto, Canada to Seattle, Washington. The transition of moving from Korea to Canada was not as difficult compared to the transition of moving from Toronto to Seattle. As a middle school student, I was adaptive and fearless. However, transferring to a different high school made me hesitant and afraid. Being exposed to new people, a new school, and a new country shaped my personality to be more timid and shy. I believe time in high school is the most sensitive and important time for one's development. Therefore, by doing this assignment, I wanted to explore how other people who transferred to different high schools felt when they moved and how their personality, friendships, and academics were affected by moving. I also wanted to explore the difficulties and the solutions to overcome these difficulties.
